Dean Rachel Friedman — noted lecturer and scholar — will be joining us on Sunday, June 3 at 10am. Dean Friedman’s entertaining and insightful lectures have made her a sought-after speaker and we are delighted to have her. She will offer us a fascinating look at one of Tanakh’s most colorful heroines — Rachav, who played an instrumental role in Yehoshua’s campaign to claim Israel for the Jews. We will consider the power of individuals to chart their destinies as we explore Rachav’s unique role in Tanakh and Midrash. The story of Rachav is also used as a springboard for discussion of how we read, understand, and appreciate these ancient and sacred texts.
A bagel breakfast will be served (no charge).
